Mark Lanning

COUNSELING INTERN

M.A. Clinical Counseling Program, Liberty University

Mark taught elementary and middle school in Colorado. Most recently, he worked for five years in school safety. In that role, Mark was honored by his peers to be the 2018 Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor of the Year. However, Mark has always felt a calling to be a counselor. Throughout all of his various jobs, Mark has enjoyed listening to others stories and helping process difficult events. As he and his wife were discerning overseas ministry in 2019, he felt confirmation to pursue his counseling degree. Mark anticipates graduating in 2025 with a M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Mark has a heart to walk alongside others that are experiencing burnout, depression, "church hurt", and spiritual despair.

Mark and his wife Kirsten have been married for nine years and have one toddler daughter. Mark enjoys board games, disc golf, and bike rides. Mark has a heart for cross cultural workers and would love to hear your story and needs.
